Man in Yellow

GRD, f7.1, 1/640, ISO 400, JPG

After taking a break from street photography I have another picture from today. This time however it's not a b&w but color picture. I think it is important to keep changing the themes and style every now and then so as not to become stale and repetitive. This is why I enjoy having different cameras, each with a slightly different look and feel.

  1. You are right, changing themes and cameras can really make you more aware and motivated. I see it daily as I use both my G10 and GRD.

  2. B&W or color. I clearly recognize your style in this photograph. Another camera and theme can force you to think differently, but to change your style is much harder in my opinion.

  3. Thanks for your comments.

James, I can see a difference between your GRD and G10 pictures. It is subtle but I think the cameras make you see and photograph different things.

You are of course right Wouter, this picture has my style and color or b&w will not change this much. I was more refering to the pictures from the last two weeks where I tried to stay away from any street shooting and use a different approach. Using the R10 and LC1 clearly made a difference how I approached my daily photography.

  4. This picture wouldn't work in B&W. Yellow day-glow clothes look burnt out white.

  5. Yesbuts, this is true but with color filters in post processing it can look ok. The color version works much better though.
