Katzenjammer

GR, f6.3, 1/320, ISO 2000, RAW

It's been a nice and sunny day for most of the time so it was great to get out of the office and go for a walk during lunchtime. I can never understand people who don't go out of the office during the day, it's essential for me to get some fresh air and just get a break from work even if only for half an hour.

Taking photos during that time is even better but it's mostly about getting a break.

Running with Pancakes

GR, f6.3, 1/320, ISO 1600, RAW

Fitting for the International Pancake Day, I came across the pancake race near Brick Lane during my lunchtime walk so I had to take a few photos. The weather was great and people were having a good time.

Big Chill

GR, f6.3, 1/320, ISO 16000, RAW

Another one of my lunchtime walks, this time around Spitalfields market but also Brick Lane. The weather was nicer so it made for a more pleasant walk today.
I even came upon a pop-up shop for the new Yota Phone 2 and have to say it's a great and very cool phone as it's something different and the e-ink screen on the back is pretty cool. Will have a closer look at it but it it were cheaper I would have been very tempted to walk out with one of them.

Around Brick Lane

I decided to go to Brick Lane for some photography today. While I don't usually like the area that much and think it's Hipsters Paradise, it's fun to take photos at times.

LPMG Street Photography Meetup

You might wonder why I post yet another street photography series in such a short time but it just happened to be a LPMG street photography meetup today.
Another reason is that Ricoh cameras are best for street and macro photography, especially the A12 28mm module is very good for street photography although I have also used the 50mm A12 module for a few pictures.

New World Odor

GRD II, f2.8, 1/100, ISO 100, RAW, 40mm

Had the GRD II along with me today. Took this picture while out for a walk near Brick Lane. I took a picture of the poster but was about to delete it when the guy came out and this made the picture for me so I chose it as the picture for today.

Important Notice

LC1, f5, 1/160, ISO 200, RAW, 90mm

Went to a Cuban festival in Canada Water and then to Brick Lane to meet friends and watch the Euro Cup finals. While waiting for the game to start I took a walk and took some street shots with the LC1 and GRD II. The LC1 has a great image quality if it gets the focus right but the AF is too slow for street photography and the camera too big and conspicuous. Today the compact cameras are what the Rangefinders from Leica used to be a few years ago for street photography. The LC1 or similar bridge cameras, small dSLRs or Rangefinders are too big and conspicuous so people notice you easier than when using a small compact camera.
I need more practice with the LC1 for street photography and will have to start using manual focus although I think the least a camera should do is focus automatically and this fast and reliable. Everything I can do but I hate manual focus and don't see the point unless I want a specific effect.
This is one of my best shots from today and I really like how the colors came out. The look is definitely different than when using the GRDs.
