Lovers at Tower Bridge

The GXR is equally fun and frustrating to use. I love the handling and build as well as the fantastic lens but the slow and unreliable AF manage to frustrate me to no end every time. I almost missed this picture because the camera mis-focused twice (and took ages to actually get there) and made a lot of noise so I had to manually focus in the end. This works great thanks to the distance and DOF scale but due to the useless magnification it's impossible to see if I focused properly so it's always a guesswork.
Overall, I enjoyed having the GXR with me but wished I would have taken the GF1 instead because it is simply more reliable to get the shot and has a working AF even in low light.

The Kiss
Work has brought me to Frankfurt and while this is not as exciting as New York or a lot of other places, it is always great to travel and see different places. For photography every place can be interesting if you keep your eyes open.
On that note, Ricoh has asked me to hold a workshop on 'Street Photography with the Ricoh GXR and GRD', this workshop will be held at Foto Koch in Düsseldorf on the 29th May. You can find all the details here.
I am really excited about this and have to thank Ricoh for giving me this opportunity.
If you can't make the workshop or don't understand German, I am thinking of maybe organizing something with the LPMG at some point and might hold it again but this time in English.
There will also be a new Ricoh meetup, this has been long outstanding but due to the schedules of everyone involved it could not be done earlier. This time we have two possible locations with London and Amsterdam and might even have two separate meetups if the number of people justifies it. For all the details head over to the Ricohforum.

Sheltered
It has been mostly a dark and grey day so not perfect or very inspiring to go out and take pictures. I took a walk through Greenwich Park and saw them under a tree taking in the view. As soon as I saw the scene I knew it would make a great picture, the CX1 allowed me to use the 200mm zoom and get the perspective I wanted.
The image is a bit soft, partly due to the (too strong) noise reduction and partly due to the shutter speed in combination with me using the DR mode. I still like how it came out and after converting it to b&w and adding some noise it looks as I want it.
