Bali Views
Another try to take some nice landscape photos during a 260km road trip around the eastern part of Bali got spoiled a bit by clouds.
Not just clouds but also some rain and fog but it still made for a nice experience and provided slightly different views most people expect from Bali.
The trip itself was nice and some of the roads along the mountains were great and very scenic.
Especially the area around Amed is very nice and would be worth staying at for a few days should I head back to Bali.

Rain, Wind and Fog
Driving from Hue to Da Nang in the rain is not much fun, driving it at night and during a typhoon is not fun but challenging and exciting.
After almost being blown off the road a few times, I ended up not being able to see much of anything of the road while going up the Hai Van Pass. In Da Nang it was just very windy and a bit flooded but otherwise ok to drive.

More Rain and Fog

Driving over the Hai van Pass at night is always exciting and a challenge but it gets very difficult to drive when it's also foggy and rainy. You end up not seeing anything around you. You don't hear anything either so it's very surreal. Suddenly the white lines become the only thing that can help guide you to the top.
It's a challenge but one I enjoy and despite it being difficult it's also quite peaceful up there without any noise or other people around (aside from the occasional trucks passing by slowly).
I know, I posted a similar photo before but I liked this one and decided to post it anyway.

A Rainy Day in Hong Kong
The day started and ended with rain but it was reasonably dry in between to go for a walk around Kowloon.
For this trip, I decided to take the Epson RD-1 and 28mm GR lens with me and only use tis combination, although I had the Ricoh GR as a backup camera along.
It took me a bit to get back into the flow of using the RD-1 and taking photos without being able to focus or frame accurately but soon I just preset everything and didn't think too much about the camera.
I really missed just walking around and taking photos, my recent 'street photography' has been done mostly from the back of a motorbike.
Hong Kong is one of the best places for street photography, next to maybe New York, Tokyo and London. There is always something going on and there are lots of people around.
I just kept walking and taking photos and almost forgot about eating or stopping to take a break.
In the evening I planned to go take photos around the night markets but the rain meant I decided to stick closer to the buildings and take photos around the hotel I stayed at.
The rain, neon signs and people with umbrellas combined with the unique image quality from the D-1 give the photos a great character and I ended up with more photos than I could post here.
It's been a great and very productive day in terms of photography and I certainly missed that despite loving being on a motorbike and enjoying the open road.

Hue to Da Nang Road Trip
Driving between Hue and Da nang is a normal occurrence for me and it feels almost like commuting at times.
It's always fun and quite scenic despite the long stretches on the main AH1 highway.
Still, having company and being a tour guide is more fun so when a friend asked to join me till Lang Co I said yes.
Since we had enough time and there was no rush to get to Da Nang, I decided to stop off on some of the more scenic places and take the mountain passes instead of the tunnels.
The main highlight being the Bach Ma temple, it's always a very scenic spot no matter the weather.
The ride was almost completely dry with only two very heavy showers, one before Lang Co and one just after the Hai Van pass but the rain coat kept me relatively dry.
