Toy Train

In Romania now but I had to spend the day sorting out through pictures since I ran out of space and needed to create a backup. Since I have been travelling a lot without access to the internet I also had to prepare my blog pictures and posts so it was a light day for photography but a productive day in other ways.
This is not a exciting picture but I quite like the result from the Pixlr-o-Matic app.

Walking Past

GXR A12 50mm, f5.0, 1/810, ISO 200, RAW, 50mm

It is funny how things change over time, when I started with photography I waited for people to get out of my pictures. Now if I see an interesting scene, I wait for people to get into my picture to add more life to it.

After using the GXR Mount A12 for he past weeks I wanted to use one of the lensors again. It is quite strange going back to an AF lens and one without controls on it and if I am honest, I prefer using the GXR A12-M although the GXR A12 28mm and 50mm modules complement it very well and make for the current best mirrorless camera system in my view.

Just some playing around with the external flash and triggering it remotely by the internal one.

Welcome to Blickling Hall

Since it's been a long weekend I decided to go to Norfolk and visit a few places there. The first place on the list was Blickling Hall and it's what today's series is all about.

I decided to take the GXR with both A12 modules with me since it's a great travel combo, small, light and with very good image quality. I can't wait to get the GXR Mount A12 so I can use some other focal lengths when needed.

Ricoh GXR Review - A12 50mm

The A12 50mm f2.5 module was one of the two modules released with the GXR body at launch. When it was released it suffered from quite a few performance problems with the AF and screen freeze but thanks to Ricoh's great support all of the initial problems have been fixed in subsequent firmware updates. This is the 3rd part of my ongoing GXR review and will focus on how the A12 50mm module performs now with the latest firmware update.

Photo Shoot

Today, I met with friends to do a small photo shoot. I am not big into portraits and posed pictures but thought it would be fun to do this and experiment with something different. We had a great time and got a lot of pictures out of it. I wanted to travel light so only took the GXR with both A12 modules with me but ended up using only the A12 50mm module, the EVF was great to have along and the ability to tilt it 90 degrees really helped so I was happy not to have an OVF instead.

These are a few pictures from the shoot I quite like.

Knole Visit

A series from Knole in Sevenoaks, pictures taken with the GXR and A12 modules. The A12 modules make for a great and light travel combo and complement each other very well.

Just a two pictures from my day out in Rochester and Whitstable, both taken with the GXR A12 50mm module.
