The weather has finally turned around and we had a warm and sunny day. Did not take that many pictures but used the Nexus 4 for some macro pictures. This is the one I liked most, I have processed it with the built in gallery app.

Balls and String

Just a picture I took while out for drinks, I used the Nexus 4 to take some of the usual party snapshots with the harsh flash that overexposed everything. The Nexus 4 handled itself pretty well and had less lag then the iPhone 4 some of the others had.
I took a few pictures with the GXR and GR lens at f2,8 with flash but manually focussing in darkness when you only see a grey screen and nothing to focus on is not easy (especially after a few drinks), it handled it very well when the focus was spot on and the flash worked really well, too.

Snow in Greenwich

While we had some snow in the past days, it only started coming down properly today. Since it is a Sunday people were all out in the park and every slope was full of people with sledges and every flat area had people building snowmen.

I like it when it snows and could not resist walking around taking some pictures, the first one is taken and processed with the Nexus 4 and the rest are all with the GXR A12-M and the GR lens. I decided on the GR lens for two reasons, it is slightly wider than the Nokton I have been using most recently but most important, the lens element is quite far back so not exposed and will not get wet or covered in snow that easy.

Nexus Views of Greenwich University

Just having some fun with the Nexus 4 Photo Sphere and Tiny Planet features, not a prefect stitching but given the light (or lack thereof) it came out quite well. Need to play around with it some more as it's quite fun and I do want to get a perfect Photo Sphere.

I have not found a way to embed the Photo Sphere picture you can see below properly so you have to go to Google+ to see it properly.

More Rain Clouds

This is kind of a follow up to the Rain Clouds picture I took with the iPhone 4 a while ago but taken with the Nexus 4. The Nexus 4 camera is not nearly as good as the iPhone 4 camera and it's a pretty crappy camera even without comparing it with anything else.
The phone is great though but I doubt I will use the camera much, despite the panorama and Photo Sphere features being quite nice. It's a shame there is no Hipstamatic app available for Android as this would probably make it more fun to use the Nexus 4 camera.

At the Blue Table

The Nexus 4 is an amazing phone and probably the best phone to buy right now, especially given the price. The camera however is really poor even when compared with the iPhone 3GS, the focus and shutter lag makes it impossible to get any kind of moving shots. On the positive side it can adjust the EV compensation so this might come in handy at times.
Still, since I don't think much of any phone camera it is not really a problem for me. It would be nice to have the Hipstamatic app for Android though.
