Fun and Games

GR, f2.8, 1/1000, ISO 100, RAW

It is always a god idea to not only have your camera on hand but also turned on when walking or just waiting outside as you never know when an opportunity presents itself. I liked her playing with the kids and they all seemed to have a great time, I was happy to capture the moment.

In front of the o2

A small series of pictures I took outside the o2, the light was very good and a lot of people were out in the sun and just walking around.

Running Through Water

GR, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 100, RAW

Took the GR out again for some shooting around the O2 and Greenwich, wanted to post another series but decided to stick with only one picture for today.

I continue to be impressed with the GR, it is fast and just works, I like the colours it produces and the detail is impressive despite being used to the GXR A12-M.

Spire

GRD IV, f5.6, 1/640, ISO 80, RAW

As you can see from my pictures I have spent quite some time at the O2 recently but having time and a cinema card means I have been around there a few times.

Took the GRD IV with me to test my new Eye-Fi SD card and see how well it woks, I used it yesterday in the GXR but since the GRD IV has built in support I wanted to see if there is any difference. So far it's great, mostly for the ability to finally have some (more or less accurate) geo-tagging in my pictures since it's something Ricoh has not implemented in any of their cameras. While it works fine in JPGs, DNGs don't have the data embedded so any RAW conversion loses the data but I guess it's better than nothing.

In the Square

GF1, f0.0, 1/8, ISO 100, RAW (Pinwide pinhole lens)

Took this on my way to the cinema today. Decided to play around some more with the Pinwide pinhole lens.

The O2

GXR A12-M, f4.5, 1/125, ISO 1405, RAW, 53mm (Voigtlander Nokton f1.2 35mm)

Been a grey and rainy day so did not take pictures till the last half an hour of the day so this is from my way home while waiting for the bus at North Greenwich.

Pier Sculpture

GXR A12-M, f6.3, 1.6 sec., ISO 200, RAW, 42mm (Ricoh GR f2.8 28mm)

While out for a walk in Greenwich I saw the moon rising and had an idea for a picture at the O2, unfortunately by the time I got there with the bus the moon was much brighter and higher than before so the picture did not work as expected. I would have also needed a wider lens but sometimes you can't have everything and need to make do with what's there.
This is the picture I like most out of the ones I took, I cropped again to square format.

The trails in the sky are from the Emirates Airline and not from planes or just reflections.

More Rain Clouds

Nexus 4, 1/33, ISO 200, JPG, Snapseed app

This is kind of a follow up to the Rain Clouds picture I took with the iPhone 4 a while ago but taken with the Nexus 4. The Nexus 4 camera is not nearly as good as the iPhone 4 camera and it's a pretty crappy camera even without comparing it with anything else.
The phone is great though but I doubt I will use the camera much, despite the panorama and Photo Sphere features being quite nice. It's a shame there is no Hipstamatic app available for Android as this would probably make it more fun to use the Nexus 4 camera.

Orange and Blue

GRD IV, f3.5, 1/250, ISO 80, RAW

Got the GRD IV to try out now but did not have too much time for photography. I did get enough time with it to set it up and try out some features though and so far I like what I see. Will post more from and about it in the coming weeks and eventually also a full review.

Merchandise

GRD, f2.4, 1/40, ISO 400, JPG b&w

The past weeks have been quite busy and although I did manage to take pictures and keep my blog more or less up to date, I did not get around to reply to the comments.
Thanks for all the comments, I will reply to all of them as soon as I can.
