The Hangar

GRD, f2.4, 1/20, ISO 200, JPG

Took a walk across the Millenium Bridge and to the Tate Modern today during lunch. They prepare a new exhibition in the turbine hall and you could only see the top but it looked intriguing. The hall and the cables give it kind of a Sci-fi look and I wanted to have it in b&w and high contrast at first but find it works better in color.

  1. I think they are recycling Louise Bourgeois's large sculpture of a spider, with the addition of a new work by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
I wonder if it will attract as much attention as Doris Salcedo's Shibboleth, which certainly captured the public's imagination.
Tate Modern is funny, you are allowed to photograph in the Turbine Hall as long as you don't use a tripod.

  2. Good that we won't have to worry about tripods with a compact camera ;).

I was not all that impressed by Shibboleth but like the spider sculpture so I wonder how it will look like.
