Rain in Hanoi

When it's raining here it really pours and the best thing to do is to find shelter and wait till it stops.

Some people are still out and about so they do make for some nice photo opportunities.

The longer reach of the Jupiter-8 50mm lens on the GXR came in handy and meant I didn't need to go out in the rain to take the photos. It also reminded me that I really need to get a waterproof camera to also use on my bike when driving without having to worry about it breaking.

Hanoi People

After just hanging out not doing much in the last days, at least other than people watching in front of the homestay here, I figured I needed to go for a walk.

Walking around the Hoan Kiem district and the lake is one of the best things to do in Hanoi if you just want to see people and life here.

Especially in the evening it's great because everyone will be out by the lake enjoying the views, quiet but also dancing, singing or playing together.

It's a great place and really nice to see the people all being out socialising or just having a great time.

Hue to Hanoi

Having to go to Hanoi and get a new passport is actually quite good since it will allow me to meet some friends while there.

Instead of flying, I decided to take the more comfortable option and travel by train. I also put my motorbike on the rain to have it while in Hanoi and do some road rips.

The scenery is always very nice so taking the train is the best option unless you're in a rush where flying is faster and also not really more expensive.

Lang Co Views

I've been through Lang Co many times on the way to and from Da Nang but usually just stop for a coffee by the lake. So the first photo should look familiar.

There is however more to Lang Co and it's the town and also he seaside resorts, one of which I happened to be staying at for a work trip and event.

It was cool to spend some more time in Lang Co and see a bit more of the town. While most people took the bus to get here, I decided to take the more fun route and come by motorbike.

On the Water

GR, f8.0, 1/500, ISO 100, RAW
Went with friends to a really cool restaurant on the water outside of Hue, it took a long motorbike and a boat ride to get here but the setting was great and I saw some nice lighting strikes once it got dark. It would have been great to have a camera like the Sony a7s to capture the return boat trip though.

Green River

GR, f2.0, 1/1200, ISO 100, JPG

This was supposed to be a b&w photo taken with the GRD I but since I forgot to put a battery in the camera, it ended up being a photo taken with my phone instead.
