Pusteblume

GRD, f4.5, 1/250, ISO 64, JPG - Taken on 26/10/2006

Today's picture is my most popular picture on both Flickr and JPG Mag. It is also one of my own favorite pictures although I am not a big fan of flower macros. I tried to copy this picture a few times but never got anywhere close to the original.

  1. Some times its very difficult to reproduce a picture.
If you analyse this picture you soon see there are a number of complex elements that contribute to making this a great picture, not least: the position of the sun, the shape of the hedge partially masking the sun, the shape and texture of the flower, the position of the camera and last but not least the photographer.
    Great shot

  2. Nice one, Cristi. But, honestly, it reminds me of my friend just back from France. His head has become scantly grown with hairs :)

  4. Thanks for the comments!

Yesbuts, you are right, there are different elements that all need to be right to get a special picture. Also, as I found out, sometimes it's best not to reproduce a picture but to take a new one, using a fresh perspective.

Nevin, wonder what hairdresser your friend went to in France ;).

DLC, thank you for your comment and continued visits.
Glad you got the ethernet cable sorted now.
Tried to post on your blog a few times before but kept getting a page not found after pressing ok. Wonder what it was, need to try again.

  5. Cristi, we are experiencing continuous spam problems on La Presidencia - the situation right now is that, whilst most spam gets banned, some spammer comments still go through, whilst other, serious comments sometimes get blocked. I hope a Pixelpost update will fix these problems soon...

  6. Thanks for leting me know, sorry to hear about your problems with spam. Hope you can sort it through the update. Is it possible enable a word verification or similar like on Blogger or Wordpress? This could at least take care of most of the spam.

  10. Cristi, my comments are completely off-topic, but anyway, Kemai managed to put-up a Captcha-protection on the Presidencia as you proposed and it seems to be working at the moment, so I hope the problems won´t occur anymore. :)
