Enjoying a Cool Beer
GRD III, f4.5, 1/500, ISO 200, RAW
The weather was great for a bank holiday here so I went fo a walk around Brick Lane. This is my fevorite picture from the day, I thought to have it just in b&w but found taht sepia works better and it gives it a nicer and older feel.
I also enjoyed using the GRD III again and although it is not as fast as the GF1 and the image quality is obviously not on the same level it is silent and small enough not to be noticed by people. I do hope Ricoh will release a camera like the GF1 soon though, as much as I like the GF1 I would prefer to use a Ricoh version because of the superior ergonomics.
Hope Photokina will have Ricoh finally show a GXR module with the potential to compete against all the mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras and deliver again a superior serious compact.

Light in the Entrance
iPhone 4, f2.4, 1/258, ISO 80, JPG
Apple has claimed the new iPhone has an improved camera with a new backlit CMOS sensor and indeed the new iPhone camera is pretty decent. In good light it gives pretty good IQ, it focuses fast and has minimal shutter lag. I would still not consider it a proper camera but it certainly delivery decent images.

Empty Bench
GF1, f2.8, 1/800, ISO 200, JPG b&w, 56mm (Leica f2.8 28mm R)
I always find it quite interesting how much the lens actually influences the image quality with the GF1. It isalways good to experiment with lenses and I can't wait to get myself a c-mount lens and play around with this.

Looking Upwards
GF1, f7.1, 1/160, ISO 100, JPG b&w, 40mm
For this picture I would have liked to have a wider lens to capture more but this still works very well.

Powerlines
GF1, f1.7, 1/8, ISO 3200, JPG b&w, 40mm
I wanted to take this picture for a while but thought it would be with the GRD I. Today, I got he chance to take it with the GF1 and it came out as I wanted although at some point I might play around with thw RAW file and add some more noise to it.

Building
GF1, 1/2500, ISO 125, JPG b&w, 100mm (Canon f1.8 50mm FD)
This is not one of my best pictures but I simply like taking pictures of cranes so it can fit in my series.

Signing In
GF1, f 2.8, 1/3, ISO 100, JPG, 56mm (Leica f2.8 28mm R)
I realy like the colors of the Leica lens, they are quite different from the standard m4/3 lenses. It certainly is worth using legacy lenses these days because all compact mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras have only pretty mediocre lenses available for them.

The Lonely Tree II
GF1, f5.6, 1/400, ISO 100, RAW, 40mm
You might recognize this tree from one of my earlier posts but the light was great after the rain today and it did make a good subject for the second time.

No Updates?
I know, there have not been any updates in a while but I needed a break and was not very inspired or motivated to post recently.
This does not mean that I did not take pictures, so I decided to post a series of some of my favorite pictures I took over the last weeks.
From tomorrow everything will be back to normal and move back here. I simply can't stand the advertising and 'Related Posts' on Wordpress. The limit of only one picture is ok on most days but not always practical so this theme gives me more freedom.
