Double Rainbow

Driving from Hue and Da Nang is a regular occurrence for me and while it should be pretty boring by now, there is always a surprise and the road is never the same.

Especially once you get to Lang Co and the Hai Van Pass, the views are always great and never the same.

Somewhere Under the Rainbow

After the heatwave we had in the last days we got the rain back today. The good thing about the rain today was that it created some dramatic clouds and shadows. On my way home I even saw two rainbows over Blackheath. It looked fantastic and while I was glad to have my GRD II with me, the CX1 would have been better due to the longer zoom for this since there were some nice detail shots I could have taken. I was split between two pictures for today, this one and one of both rainbows but somehow this just worked better.
I quite miss the CX1 and am thinking of buying one or the CX2 when it comes out to have in my bag just in case.

Towards the Rainbow

Quick update today, took this picture on my way home. You might remember the place from my IR picture. Cropped it to the 1:1 format only.

Today, Panasonic announced the first m4/3 camera, the G1, and it is one of the most exciting developments in photography in recent years. Finally someone got rid of the loud and bulky mirror and useless OVF. Shame they did not use the great design from the LC1 but insisted of making it look like a fake mini dSLR. I am not a big fan of the dSLR designs and think they are pretty useless, pressing your nose against the back of the camera is just not very good, looking through a dim OVF that does not display enough information is even worse. I take the EVIL concept any day over the dSLRs and the LC1 was almost perfect but a bit too bulky, the LC1 in Leica CL size would've been the best camera ever. Hopefully Panasonic or Leica (once without ripping people off just for the red dot and the name!) can release something like it.

The End of the Rainbow

Again a mostly gray and rainy day. But the nice thing of a rainy day is when the sun comes out after the rain. The light, air and smell are great and with some luck you can catch a rainbow. Where is the end of the rainbow and what lies at the end of it? What lies at the beginning and where does it start? These are questions you ask yourself when you're young and that you still don't have any answers when you're older.
I used the LC1 today due to the zoom and higher dynamic range it has when compared with the Ricohs.
