GRD, f5.6, 1/500, ISO 400, JPG
I have way too may cameras probably but none is more enjoyable to use than the GRD I, it has it's quirks and it a bit outdated comapred to the GXR or GRD III but it is just more fun to use than either.
This year Ricoh will release the GRD IV and I hope they will go back to basics and deliver a camera that does less but this better than any other camera out there.
Hi Cristian,
ReplyDeleteDo you have actual info that a GRD IV is coming this year, or just speculating on release cycle?
Re-sizing GRD to 1600 x 1200 gives its images very attractive noise characteristics. The camera lags behind now in many areas, but I still find the subjective quality of its images (especially here on your blog) to still be among the best.
Thanks for your comment!
ReplyDeleteRicoh has confirmed there will be a GRD IV this year and they still consider it is still their high end camera line so it should be interesting to see what they come up with.
The noise characteristics are great even when viewed at fullsize and especially in print. Lie you, I think it has a very unique character to it's images so I enjoy using it a lot even with it's flaws.
