First Visit to Kew Gardens
A small series of pictures I took on my first visit to Kew Gardens, the weather was not great but at least it was not raining and the sun even came out for a bit. I took my Nokton lens and the Leica OUFRO macro adapter along for the trip.
While the adapter works fine, macro with a small sensor camera is just easier though and gives better results than with any large sensor camera and macro lenses where the DOF is just too shallow.

More Rain Clouds
Nexus 4, 1/33, ISO 200, JPG, Snapseed app
This is kind of a follow up to the Rain Clouds picture I took with the iPhone 4 a while ago but taken with the Nexus 4. The Nexus 4 camera is not nearly as good as the iPhone 4 camera and it's a pretty crappy camera even without comparing it with anything else.
The phone is great though but I doubt I will use the camera much, despite the panorama and Photo Sphere features being quite nice. It's a shame there is no Hipstamatic app available for Android as this would probably make it more fun to use the Nexus 4 camera.

At the Blue Table
Nexus 4, 1/40, ISO 100, JPG
The Nexus 4 is an amazing phone and probably the best phone to buy right now, especially given the price. The camera however is really poor even when compared with the iPhone 3GS, the focus and shutter lag makes it impossible to get any kind of moving shots. On the positive side it can adjust the EV compensation so this might come in handy at times.
Still, since I don't think much of any phone camera it is not really a problem for me. It would be nice to have the Hipstamatic app for Android though.

Being British
GRD, f2.4, 1/20, ISO 1600, JPG b&w
Ok, it's a bit shaky but I still like it and decided to post anyway. Some processing done with Snapseed.

In Colour
Went to Somerset House today to see some of the photo exhibitions there and in particular the Cartier Bresson exhibition 'A Question of Colour'. It is well worth seeing and very interesting, although I did not like or even understand all of the street photographs there.
In spirit of the exhibition I took my Epson RD-1 along and have chosen the title for this post.

Return to Bodiam
It was supposed to be a nice and sunny day, it surely started that way but then the rain came. Still, it was Sunday and I decided to head back to Bodiam castle.
Last time I have been here was in 2009 and I had the Panasonic LC1 with me, this time I took the GXR A12-M with the Nokton 35mm and my favourite lens the Heliar 15mm.
The first picture is taken from the same spot and should give an idea how little things have changed (including the weather) since my last visit.
