GRD IV, f3.5, 1/250, ISO 80, RAW
Got the GRD IV to try out now but did not have too much time for photography. I did get enough time with it to set it up and try out some features though and so far I like what I see. Will post more from and about it in the coming weeks and eventually also a full review.
A delightful shot, Cristi. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on the GRD IV, particularly whether it is worth upgrading from the GRD III.

ReplyDeleteI will need more time with the GRD IV but so far I have to say it might be worth if you need the extra features it offers but not necessary if you're happy with the GRD III. Deciding between the III and IV I would take the IV though.
Great sky shot. I also have wondered about upgrading from III to IV, but so far have just carried on to try and get the most out of the III. Maybe the biggest advance is the image stabilization, which I presume gives you an extra couple of stop values; although I am not sure if it is a battery killer. Is the higher ISOs avtually useable? Looking forward to your review.

ReplyDeleteThe GRD IV has better high ISO since I could not see any banding occur, will need to do more tests but it looks definitely better in this respect.
I have never found IS to make a huge difference so can't say how much it really adds here.
