GRD, f7.1, 1/800, ISO 400, JPG b&w, 21mm
Took this on my way back from the O2, had the GRD I with the 21mm wideangle adapter along. It's very nice to use and much smaller and lighter than I remembered. The b&w image quality is still impressive from the GRD I and has a character I have not seen in any other camera.
Love the tonality of this shot, Cristi. Use of the GRD I also explodes the myth held by many on DP Review that you have to have the latest and greatest camera to produce good photographs. When will they ever learn? :-)
ReplyDeleteMind you, talking of latest and greatest, how close are you to acquiring a Ricoh GR? I had hoped to get one before I head to the UK but the delivery date got put back to the day before I leave, so I am going to have to cancel my pre-order. I hope to pick one up shortly after my arrival in the UK.
Thanks for your comment Calvin!
ReplyDeleteThe GRD I, like the LC1 and RD1 are very unique cameras and the images they produce have character not found in other cameras. Having the latest and greatest is certainly not needed if you enjoy the camera you have.
But people in forum will never learn and always yearn for the latest and greatest in the belief that it will improve their photography. Still, cameras are also gadgets and part of the fun is also to acquire new gadgets :)
I have asked Ricoh for a review sample and everything going well I hope to receive one in the coming weeks.
Shame you will not receive yours before your trip to the UK but maybe you can get one here for a good price.
