The Photographer's Girlfriend

GF1, f2.0, 1/250, ISO 100, RAW, 70mm (Voigtlander Nokton f1.2 35mm M)

Technically it's not a very good picture, it's not perfectly in focus and I cropped her foot off slightly but I like it anyway, I like their pose. In the end it's not about technical perfection but about the photograph so I decided to just post it anyway.

I took the GF1 out since I wanted to try the Nokton on another camera but on the GF1 it did not really perform as well and I forgot how fiddly it is to focus without a RF, peaking or Mode 2 on the GXR.

  1. There is never a perfect shot. All things are subjective. I think this is a nice square format shot, and they do look well sat. They fill the whole frame really well. As usual with that smart little lens of yours, you have a really nice background render.

I would have processed it and sueezed a little more contrast out of it; but I know you prefer to keep your images quite true to the moment.

  2. Thanks for your comment Bill!

You are right that there is never a perfect shot.
I agree about the contrast and experimented a bit with it but felt the low contrast gives it a more old feel.
