Watergate

GRD II, f9, 1/2000, ISO 80, RAW

This is the famous Torii gate on Miyajima that stands in Water at high tide. Last full sight seeing day in Japan before heading to Tokyo for some shopping and the Ricoh exhibition.
Took this with the GRD II and the screen turned all green in the process, funny thing is that both the GX and GX100 have this problem in bright light but not the GRD I. The pictures turn out fine though so just a nuisance while taking the shot.

  1. I like this shot very much.
I have a gx100, but am on a steep learning curve, so different to my other 2 cameras.
    Well done.
    Cheers

  2. Thanks Phillip.
The GX100 is a very nice camera. I've used one for half a day while in Miyajima and took a similar shot with it of the gate. Very capable and while it has more noise and slightly lower dynamic range than the GRD II it does a very good job and the zoom is nice.
Ricoh cameras always have a learning curve to get the best out of them but they reward one for learning and produce great pictures.
