Evening Chat

GR, f2.8, 1/60, ISO 1600, RAW

Took this while walking through the City late in the evening.
The GR is doing a great job in low light and produces natural colours and detailed images thanks to the lower noise compared to the older 12MP sensor in the GXR.

  1. That's what I call a busy shot, with lots going on literally at different levels.

Having got hold of a GR, I couldn't agree with you more Cristi on its low light capabilities. I haven't yet taken it to ISO 1600 but the image quality of a few shots at ISO 800 in the fading light of yesterday evening was quite amazing.

The GR really is a little gem of a camera. I notice that all the major online retailers in the US have it on back order again. I feel quite lucky to have gotten hold of one and am looking forward to shooting with it in the days, weeks and months ahead. The only downside is that I feel a little disloyal to my trusty GRD III, which has served me exceedingly well these past three years.

  2. Thanks for your comment Calvin!

Glad to hear you git hold of your GR and like it, from your photos you seem to get on very well.

I am sure your GRD III will forgive you going after the newer camera. ;)
