Umbrella-Lady

LC1, f2.4, 1/2000, ISO 100, RAW, 90mm

One thing I noticed with using the LC1 this week is that although it has zoom I stay mostly with one focal length and then go between 28mm, 50mm, 70mm or 90mm.
By using manual focus the camera is fast enough for street photography. After getting used to the different field of view when using 70mm or 90mm I can take shots from the hip without problems.

  1. It seems we share the weather Cristi :(
The photograph looks pretty good, and you seem to enjoy the LC1 a lot. I pretty much need a spare camera too. When Ricoh only replaces the lens the GX100 will be my spare camera.

  2. Yes, unfortunatelly we don't seem to have a proper summer so far.
I did enjoy the week with the LC1 but miss using the GRDs and especially my GRD I that is still with Ricoh :(.
Hopefully Ricoh will replace yur camera and the GX200 won't have the same problem. But what camera did you think of getting? Might be worth to wait till Photokina.
Btw. I will be going to Photokina this year to check the new cmeras out and the Ricoh stand.

  3. Nothing in particular at the moment. I wait for Photokina too. I first want to see the new Panasonic LX3, Nikon P6000(?), Canon G10, or a possible Leica CL/CM. Maybe Panasonic and Canon will start using CMOS. Keep us informed when you get back from Cologne.

    Cheers,
    Wouter

  4. I think you are right to wait and see what else comes out before making a decision. I wonder what Ricoh is going to do if Canon and Panasonic are going to release compacts with larger sensors.

Will provide a report when I am back, this time it should be less controversial then my Focus report ;).
