Lady in Red

GF1, f5.6, 1/320, ISO 200, RAW, 80mm (Voigtländer f1.4 40mm M)

Ok, this picture is not properly in focus but I like it anyway. At first I wanted to post is as I took it in b&w but felt that it works much better with the color.

  1. Welcome to my world, Cristian. As you know I shoot regularly with a Zeiss manual focus lens on a 40D and it is a devil of a job to get sharp focus with a moving subject.

But this image works and works well. You made the right decision to go with the colour version.

  4. I don't think focus is an issue here as long as it tell the story, and this excellent capture definitely deserve to be shared.

  5. Thanks for all your comments!

I was not sure wether to use the picture because it is not properly focused but from your comments it looks like technical perfection is not always the main criteria for a good picture. I really like it and was glad I managed to capture the moment even if not perfectly focused.

  6. Great photograph. I agree, even if it's not 100% sharp it captures that moment in time. Only a fraction of what our eyes see is in focus anyway.
