Looking Back Over His Shoulder

GRD, f4, 1/1050, ISO 400, JPG b&w

Took this one after work on my way to London Bridge. Liked how the leaves framed him and when he turned round to see what I was up to I got the picture I wanted. Without him turning around it would have been a bit lifeless but so it works much better. Really like the grain I get when shooting at ISO 400 and overexposing slightly.

  1. That is a fantastic photograph, and well timed too.

  2. Thanks Wouter!
Sometimes it pays off to be very visible when taking a picture as long as you keep the finger on the shutter :).

  3. It's the half turn that does it - the photograph freezes time between to moments. You are left with a question - what happens next? - ignore you or ask you what you think you're doing.
Then there is the framing by the tree and bridge.
All adding up to make a great shot - and better for being B&W.

  4. I agree with Wouter and Yesbuts, this is a hell of a shot. The framing is really nice and the face of the man is like the cherry on the pie...
