Stairs

CX1, f3.3, 1/30, ISO 322, JPG b&w, 28mm

Took this picture in Westminster station, I really like the design of it and it does make for some nice pictures. It is worth taking some pictures if your there even if people give you suspicious looks ;).
I have added somenoise and boosted the contrast to get this look, the original JPGs from the CX1 are a bit flat and look 'digital'.

  1. Strange composition, Cris! I love the lines that flow and cross each other.

  2. Nice lines and I really like the quality of light coming in from the top.

  3. I fully agree with you, it is a great location to take photographs, but very challenging, due both to the lighting, people getting in the way, and also finding the best perspective to do justice to the structures.

Yesbuts, you are right, it is not an easy location to take pics but it might be worth trying early morning on a weekend so there are less people around.

  6. Cristi, very nicely done ... and again, it's times like this when I wish there was in-camera adj for b&w images ! Even just contrast control would do it ... Cheers,
    Nick

  7. Thanks for your comment Nick!
I think we should mention this to Ricoh again during the meetup so maybe they can release a firmware update to allow in-camera settings for b&w.
