Day 89 - Day in Ayutthaya

Got up a bit earlier to take the train to Ayutthaya and explore the old capital, the train is pretty cheap and makes for a nice journey to get there.

Once there, I took the ferry service across the river and walked to see the main temples and ruins, on the way there you will find old ruins dotted all around the place.

Walking around Ayutthaya and see the ruins is quite nice and a welcome change from being in Bangkok, it's not as impressive as Angkor Wat or as well preserved but still worth a visit.

You can see and do everything there is in a leisurely half day trip from Bangkok or as a stopover to Chiang Mai or any of the other places.

On the way back to Bangkok, the train passed by a huge gathering of people celebrating in the streets, it was the Democratic party marches.
