Day 99 - A Walk Around Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage City an you can see why if you walk around the old part of town with it's many wooden houses, colonial style villas and temples dotted around. It all looks very nice and it's great to just wader around the streets.
Wandering around you will also discover some small markets along some of the small alleys hidden away a bit from the main tourist trails.
There are temples everywhere and you will see monks dressed in their bright orange robes walking around the streets on their way to the temples or shopping in the markets.
In the afternoon I decided to go and see the sunset on the Phou Si mountain and temple there, unsurprisingly probably, this turned out to be the place where everybody was gathering to watch the sunset so it was packed with tourists.
The views from up there are definitely great and worth seeing but expect to be crammed in and not get a good spot if you are not there early enough. You can however jut sit and chat with the monks on your way up as some will be more than happy to chat and improve their English while learning more about other cultures, which goes both ways.
